We're Still Here!

Well, this is going to be short, but I figured that's better than nothing. I am now so far behind on updating that I might as well just forget trying to catch up or I will never blog again. :P
Calvin is now 19 months, and the cutest little stinker you ever saw. He now says and signs all sorts of things, from"Hi!" to random strangers (unless they try to come closer), to Moo! when he sees a cow, to Oobi, Elmo, boots, and apple. I am constantly amazed at how brilliant he is at figuring stuff out, like where the volume is on the iPad or how to make the microwave work (not so happy about that one, but still impressed). Today we went to the park and ran around like crazy people, which was great fun for all of us. Calvin was, as always, very excited to see two other little kids there about his age, and very proudly identified one of them as a girl (signing AND saying--I was so proud. :D ).
We just bought Calvin a little basketball hoop to play with because he is OBSESSED with basketballs and basketball hoops (on TV, in the neighborhood, in people's yards and driveways...) He's not quite tall enough to just put the ball in his little hoop, but he sure likes to try. He throws it and throws it, and then claps his hands in excitement.
Had to take a break for a minute here to see what the large and scary crash from the kitchen was. He was out of my sight for about 30 seconds, and he managed to dump a cookie sheet with empty containers all over the floor. But nothing was broken, including Calvin, and he got the cookie spatula that he wanted. So I'm calling this one a success.

Hm, is there any news about Peter and I?

Peter's been keeping an eye out for a new job, lately. Since we've had to start paying off his school loans, it's become a lot more necessary to get something that pays a bit better. Plus, if we ever want to live in a house... So if you hear of any jobs that might suit Peter, feel free to let us know. :)

As for me, I have only three more class periods of my advanced writing class I've been taking this summer, which makes me very sad. But, on the upside, I just applied to graduate next April!

The pictures, in case you were wondering, are his I Am Being Grumpy face (which usually ends up in laughing), showing off his new tiger hat while at the zoo, and being king of the garbage can (with a bubble wand as a scepter).
